Books to read | A beginner's guide

Hello there! Now this will be one of my favorite blogs because I love reading books a lot. I also post book reviews on my Social media handle and I get many replies saying, “Even I want to read books but it's really boring”, “How on earth do you read books?, “From where to start?”, “Could you suggest me some interesting books?” and the list goes on…

So I thought why not make a blog? ANYYYYWAYYYYSSSSSS

If you want to know the secret behind reading books then check out 'How to read A LOT of Books'.

Reading is such a good habit but sometimes people just start with the wrong book and get discouraged by thinking that reading is not their thing. Therefore, the books I am going to recommend are easy, quick reads, and also interesting.

Book #1 The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

If you are a reader and didn't read this book then WHY DID YOU NOT READ IT YET???

I have suggested & also gifted this book to many of my people. Many of you guys must have already been familiar with this book as this book is a widely translated international bestseller. It’s a fable about following your dreams. Written in simple language, the storyline is catchy and you will not lose interest while reading this book as it is a mystical story of a young shepherd who travels to find a treasure, and what happens next is the reason you should read this short inspiring book.

Moving on to

Book #2 The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

A perfect example of how a fictional book should be. I don’t have words that how wonderful this book is. The story set-up is in Afghanistan, USA & Pakistan. I loved the way how each scene is well described which surely will let you grip it till the end. I bet even a stone-like personality will get emotional while reading this art.

So, our next book is...

Book #3 The Palace of Illusions by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni

I mean come on, this book is next level A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I never knew I may be into mythology books, but man! Mahabharata from the perspectives of Draupadi. Never knew, would be such an interesting read.

Book #4 If God was a banker by Ravi Subramanian

Believe me or not; I completed this book in just 2 days being hell’ a busy. I just could not keep it down; it’s a novel with self-help touch. Two MBA pass-outs from IIM, both of them are as opposite as cheese and chalk. Being friends, they are widely different from their thoughts, ways of working, lifestyle, and, ethics. The author has highlighted office-politics, corporate life linked with personal life, emotions, love, etc. The main character Aditya is mentioned as God in the book by one of the characters.

Book #5 Attitude is Everything by Jeff Keller

I thank this book for enriching my perspective towards everything! I ensure this book will help you to take things in a positive way 24/7. A step by step guide to develop a positive attitude and achieve your goals. Less preachy and more real-life examples. I would suggest you, note down or highlight important paragraphs or sentences so that you can re-read it once a while.

Book #6 IKIGAI

A book that will merely make you realize that self-love is important. A quick read, as catchy as the cover of this book. Isn’t it pretty?

Book #7 7 Habits of highly effective people by Stephen R.

This book was on my wish list for a long time. I read it and regret it… I regret PEHLE Q NHI READ KIYA THA MENE! (Why didn’t I read it before?) One thing this book taught me that the way we see things depend on our perspectives. Words are engaging that you will not get bored. Beginners, I tell you, read it!

Book #8 It Happened in India by Kishore Biyani

A failure & success story of the owner of Pantaloons, Big Bazaar, Grand Central, and, Future Group. The different ideas to market his business is really innovative. Highly recommended to my MBA friends. You will learn about business tactics, marketing, leadership, etc. Explained in simple words which makes this book interesting.

So, these were the best top 8 for beginners I have found. If you want me to suggest some more books then do let me know. Till then, stay safe and stay home.
